The Daily Item
This letter is to thank the people of the Susquehanna Valley. On March 22, St. Louis de Montfort Academy held a rosary rally for traditional marriage at the entrance of the Monroe Marketplace shopping center in Selinsgrove. The school played patriotic songs to start the presentation.
Afterward we prayed the three rosaries, and the band played a hymn to Our Lady in between each rosary. Because of the slope on the hill, my ankles got rather sore, but thanks to the community’s support with non-stop honks and thumbs-up from the passing traffic, it was immensely enjoyable and exciting.
The support was so great that it passed all of my best expectations. This disproves the widespread theory that the majority of Americans do not acclaim traditional marriage. Most in their vehicles supported us.
At the end “God Bless America’’ echoed down the street. Coming from Ireland, I was happy to pray for traditional marriage for the first time on the streets of the U.S. I look forward to the next time we go and bring the topic to the street.
