The Daily Item
It has been brought to my attention that Packwood House Museum may soon close because the board of directors has cut the stipend. As a former executive director of this great museum, I’d like to take this opportunity to correct this story. The board of directors has worked long and hard to keep the museum afloat in the face of adversity.
The board of trustees of the Fetherston Foundation is the problem. They have consistently reduced the stipend over the course of several years. The Trustees have exhibited indifference to the museum, and have rarely been involved with fundraising or other interaction. Hopefully this financial issue can be resolved so that Edith Fetherston’s legacy to Lewisburg and central Pennsylvania can continue.
