---- — Guns don't kill people; people kill people -- so we are told. And that is true enough. People kill people, but all too often using guns.
That people kill people is also the nub of our problem, for not all people have steady control of themselves all the time. And some of those lacking control have ready access to guns with which to express their unsteadiness.
That is the source of many tragedies, a source that we have failed to examine and address.
When will we do that, and how?
