A life with purpose will start with "In the beginning, God." Giving God the authority and control of our lives places our lives under the control of the Great Shepherd. It is this Shepherd who knows how to give peace, security, protection, sustenance and encouragement to his sheep.
It is he who leads and guides. When we follow his simple guidance, an amazing thing begins to take place. We find purpose. We begin to find value and significance. We are also given rest.
We celebrated Easter recently. There are some facts about Easter that are essential to our faith. Jesus Christ (God's son) was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died upon a cross and he was raised from the dead. He is a living Savior. The blood of Jesus Christ did not come from Mary, but rather from God himself. Jesus was fully God and fully man. This is a mystery. The crucifixion and resurrection of Christ is an historical documented fact.
I agree with Mr. Westlund that facts need to be documented and universal. The archeological evidence supporting the historical record of the Bible is overwhelming. The prophetic record (concerning Christ and future revelation events) continues to come to pass seemingly before our very eyes. In conclusion, if you are looking for purpose and hope, look to Christ.
