The Unaffordable Health Care Act

For The Daily Item

— If you like your doctor you will be able to keep your doctor. If you like your health plan you can keep your health plan. The cost of health insurance for your family will go down an average of $2,500 per year. On the exchange you will be able to search for a health plan that best suits you. Congressional staff will be on the same exchange system as you. The lies and deception continue. The most recent deception was revealed when Sen. Harry Reid announced his staff would not be in the health insurance exchange reversing his statement earlier in the year that they would be in the exchange. We do not have this choice or exemption! We are stuck.

Before Obamacare, polls showed that 85 percent of us were happy with our health care insurance and delivery system. If the goal of Obamacare was to assist the 15 percent who were either unhappy or without health insurance, it has failed. There are more people without health insurance today than there were before the passing of Obamacare and that number is growing.

Obama has not apologized for the mess and confusion. He only said he was sorry for the 5 percent of us who lost their insurance. He has not held anyone accountable for the tremendous waste of money ($684 million) spent in creating a non-functioning web site. He has blamed the whole fiasco on the Republicans, none of whom voted for this disaster. He has lied again telling us the Republicans do not have a plan when he knows full well that they do. The Republicans put a bill on the floor of the House at the same time Nancy Pelosi was telling them to vote for a bill before reading it so they could find out what was in the bill. The Republican plan was centered on the patient not on the government.

The reason Obama is not overly concerned must be that he wants the system to fail so the government can come in to save the day by creating the “single payer” system that has long been their goal. This would give the government complete control over your health care.

Sen. Reid has given us a look at how the government would treat us. The government would decide the winners and the losers. The president has exempted certain groups of us from the effects of Obamacare and now Harry Reid has done the same for his staff. They do not have the constitutional authority to alter the law to suit themselves and favor their friends. Along with the rule of law, we are all the losers!
