I understand that The Daily Item is a newspaper, and that it uses headlines to catch the public eye. The more exciting the headline, the more copies will be purchased, the most basic premise of any newspaper.
However, I would have to request that future headlines involving Midd-West High School be presented in more positive manners.
For example: MWHS was the host of the regional chorus competition and students from our school made their way to regionals as participants. Our sports teams demonstrate teamwork, and are proud of their passion for the sports they play.
There are many positive accomplishments of our students that are overshadowed by the negativity that results from the unnecessary behavior exhibited by the minority.
The Midd-West School District does not need negative headline exposure. Instead, why not use exciting headlines that appeal to readers in a positive way?
