I live in Middleburg, and I am proud to say that I will be graduating from Midd-West High School this year. I've noticed that almost every time Midd-West has been in the paper, and on the front page, I may add, it's been about something negative. Yes, we've had two bomb threats in the past month and a half, but why is that front-page news? We are not the only school in Pennsylvania who has had bomb threats.
Have you seen this building? It's beautiful. The architecture, thought and planning put into this school is unbelievable. The schools around us look nothing like our building. We are also proud of our students who excel in sports and other areas. Zach Heeter, a senior, and Alex Lieberman, a junior, both traveled to Hershey, PA for the PIAA Wrestling Tournament.
In FFA news, many of our students have been awarded for their hard work. Josh Hibbs and Kyle Fawver, two seniors, were awarded their Keystone Degrees at the PA Farm Show this year. Kassidy Klingler, Tony Rice, Ryan Kerstetter, Austin Snook, Michael Zechman, and many others have also won awards this past school year. Our FFA Chapter is one of the best, and one of our alumni, Casey Shawver, is the Pennsylvania State FFA President. How awesome is that?
Not only do we have amazing students, but we also have incredible teachers. Mrs. Kathy Shellenberger, who teaches 8th grade science, used to work for NASA as a scientist! Mr. Dan Weber, one of our biology teachers, was the mayor of Middleburg at one point! With all of these accomplishments, we have every right to be proud, and we wish you would better represent our district.
