House of inspiration

Recently an extensive article was published in this paper describing the many attributes of

Sunbury, but one very important asset appeared to be missing.

Just one short block from Market Street, on Fifth Street, is the Y Art Center. This resource most certainly should be mentioned when talking of all the good things Sunbury has to offer. Note that none of the surrounding communities offer anything even close to the opportunities and enrichment provided by the Y Art Center.

With Mary Jo Tavares and Scott Onsager directing the activities, the Y Art Center offers and extensive variety of classes for people of all ages taught by a group of artists second to none: pottery, watercolor and oil painting, cooking, jewerly design, lapidary, wood carving, guitar lessons, private drawing instruction, fiber arts, after-school programs, summer classes for children of all ages, and so much more. All this in an atmosphere of encouragement, friendship and fun. Truly a house of inspiration.

We encourage any and all who are looking for a place to let your artistic talents soar to join us at the Y Art Center. We look forward to meeting new friends. Come join us.
