Angel's departure

On Aug. 3, 2012 my life forever changed.

At 7 a.m. I recieved that phone call that is every parent's worse nightmare.

My beautiful daughter Brittany was involved in a head-on collision and was flown to Geisinger. At 6:55 p.m. my beautiful Brittany became one of God's angels.

I never thought this would nor could ever happened to me, unfortunately it did. I thought she would be here forever.

Today, I realize more than ever the importance of living each day you are given to the fullest. We need to cherish every moment we are given with our children. I didn't know that a week before the accident would be the last time in this lifetime that I would see her beautiful face and hold her in my arms and say the words I LOVE YOU.

I didn't know the night before would be the last time that I would hear her sweet voice. No warning and no chance to say goodbye.

Parents, please, I can't express enough the importance of telling your children every day how much you love them and what they mean to you.

Don't wait for them to call you, don't wait for tomorrow, for tomorrow may not be here. I learned the worst way possible how short life really is.

Thing's happen every day that are beyond our control. Things we don't understand and are hard to accept. Please don't take a minute for granted.

I did and I will never be able to look my daughter in the eye's again or hold her or dial her phone number to talk to her.

Please tell your children every day how much you love them.

I want to thank my friends, family, people I don't even know, my Angel mom, friends whom I love dearly, and my community for reaching out and offering their support to me in this very difficult time.

Donita Harpster,

Northumberland
