The Daily Item
This letter is to inform you of some projects we finalized. The Vietnam Memorial Moving Wall will be up and open for your pleasure at 1 p.m., May 29, Uniontown, Coal Township. Two VA vans will transport visitors to the Wall from the parking lot of Weis Market. Also, a bus will take visitors to the Wall each day starting at 9 a.m.
You won’t want to miss the services on May 31 starting at 1 p.m. The programs are awesome. A Gold Star mother, age 95, will take up a wreath as a tribute to the 58,479 names on the Wall. Each day a military unit will stand honor guard. There will be a 21 Step Unknown Soldiers Challenge for any veteran who wants to meet the challenge. It’s not easy to do for one hour. We expect to see much of the TV and press welcome home 58,479 Vietnam hero’s on this awesome display. The 50th anniversary of Vietnam starts here on May 29. Get your free history program when you register. This will never happen here again.
Reminder, no profits can be made from this memorial Wall, no vendors, no cell phones on at the Wall, no food or drinks, and no pets. There will be Honor Guards 24 hours a day for five days and emergency crews and surrounding local police coverage for safety, state first responders to cover any and all emergencies.
After 58,479 killed, 2,500 P.O.W.s and MIAs, it’s time Pennsylvania media and citizens bring Vietnam forgotten heros home publicly. Thanks to the local press for your painting of this project program step-by-step. To you I can not express my gratitude enough. We need you to come and paint and show this awesome display. It’s their time to be given the justice their country failed to give them 50 years too late.
