The sky is falling

Chicken Little is a character folk tale with a moral in the form of a cumulative tale about a chicken who believes the world is coming to an end. Chicken Little ran all about the farm yard exclaiming repeatedly, “The sky is falling,” when a seed fell from a tree branch and hit him on the tail feathers.

I relate this folk tale to President Obama, who in his recent tirade/campaign exclaims how we the United States are in a “crisis,” a man-made crisis called climate change/global warming.

Once again, the president and the far left are trying to invoke fear into the people of the United States, stating that we are responsible for global warming and that we need to act immediately to save the United States and our planet from extinction.

Remember, back in 2008 when Al Gore indicated the entire north polar ice cap would be gone by 2013, when actually the Arctic ice cap has rebounded by 2012/2013, growing by 29 percent, according to National Snow and Ice Date Center and that New York City would be under water by 2013, due to the melting of the ice cap.

Is the climate changing? Of course. The climate always has changed and always will. During the cap-and-trade debates, proponents cited scientific studies predicting that curtailing American CO2 emission reductions would shave a few hundredths of a degree off future temperatures. And the cost? The United Nations published an estimate that the total planetary cost could reach $552 trillion. Only the political and politically connected elite would benefit by collecting billions from trading carbon permits. This is the ugly truth about what potentially could be the crime of the century.
