People who pay the bills

Do school boards hire school superintendents to further the students education or to build new schools?

After reading the daily newspaper day after day, week after week, year after year, how can a superintendent spend so much time trying to pressure the taxpayers to spend $25-plus million to build a new school in a school district which is already taxed to death and forcing the elderly on fixed incomes to move from what they worked all their lives for?

Building a new school will not cause the students to graduate one iota smarter. However, when they join the work force they will be hung with a tax bill to pay, and with an falling enrollment.

All because a superintendent and a school board that was led around by the nose without any concern for the taxpayer.

No new construction of schools should be done without first approval of the taxpayers’ vote on the ballot.

What needs done is the school board should pay off the superintendent’s contract and send him somewhere else to spend taxpayers’ money. Then the taxpayers should elect a school board that works for a living and knows what a dollar is.

School boards just can’t keep spending taxpayer dollars like water over a waterfall.

One thing I have not mentioned is the cost of the upkeep to a new school which amounts to 1/30th of the cost of a new school per year and the cost of busing.

Wake up taxpayers, it’s you who pays the bills.
