Words breed words

I found the March 27 letter “Blindness breeds blindness” rather incredulous. The writer is obviously an accomplished wordsmith.

He has learned all the inflammatory and degrading words commonly used in political arguments. However, it’s apparent that he just puts them together into meaningless sentences.

After reading the article twice, I had to ask myself, what is he trying to say? What is his point?

The writer presented lots of inflammatory words: slavery, blinded, deafened, servitude, compulsion, addictive, insidious, Jim Crow, segregation, racial overtones, racist appeal, economic servitude, debt spiral, enslaved-whining. Just a multitude of words.

Unfortunately, these words were not assembled into meaningful sentences that presented a reasonable argument. They were just words in the wind with no real meaning. The writer’s obvious leftist leaning is no excuse for literary ignorance. If he can’t produce a convincing argument, he should just fold his tent, steal away into the night and be quiet.
