Close-knit group of people

— You have ticked me off by your insinuation that the residents of Hartleton are a group of people with no shame about the actions of their police chief Donald Zerbe.

In my opinion you have personally offended me and every resident of Hartleton. Does being the editor of The Daily Item give you the right to be judge, jury and executioner of our individual character?

Perhaps if you were a resident of this small community, which at this present time I am glad you are not, you would know we are a close-knit group of people who are concerned for the welfare of all our residents and appreciate the protection of our police chief and officers from those who have for years sped through our community without regard for the safety of our residents.

I ask you which statute of the Pennsylvania Vehicle Motor Code was broken by Chief Zerbe? According to the arresting officers’ testimony, he could not give one.

I hold you in contempt of my personal integrity and say “shame on you!” I hope you would have the decency to apologize to Hartleton’s residents for your crass remarks.
