Trying to save the PCLB

A response to my letter questioning the writer's fact-finding ability once again uses half truths. In fact, the state of Washington did raise prices by 11 percent and, really, what consumer cares whether it was a tax increase or not? It costs more, that's the bottom line.

In Washington, there was an increase in price, underage theft, crime and a decrease in compliance.

Another half-truth was the PLCB did not bring Joe Conti back in an emergency status. He, like any repeat, any, state employee who has retired can come back as a temporary employee. Granted the salary is high, however, I give Conti some credit in this case since he came back to try and save the PLCB from the likes of the governor and the privateers looking to line their pockets at the expense of hard-working Pennsylvania residents who fuel this commonwealth's economy.

I'd much rather have him on our side.

Harry Prentiss,

Sunbury
