Citizen concern

Friday night after eating at a local Selinsgrove eatery, we came to our car parked on West Chestnut Street near Kleinbauer's store to find a $15 ticket on the windshield. Apparently the street has been changed to a two-way street approximately one year ago, according to the local policeman to whom I voiced my complaint.

It would have been nice to get a warning instead a $15 ticket after a nice evening out. We have parked at that location for approximately 15 years and were unaware of the change.

So I am notifying others who may not know that West Chestnut Street by Kleinbauer's is a two-way street and you will incur a substantial parking ticket for supporting local businesses. Apparently ticketing local patrons on a Friday evening is an important item in the Selinsgrove police's agenda.

Kimberly Haizlett,

Selinsgrove
