A recent letter to the editor about "suppressive plutocracy" had to leave many readers scratching their heads. (What is a corporate plutocracy and what does it have to do with our government?) The writer defends Edward Snowden and condemns NSA, the FBI and the Dept. of Homeland Security for taking away our constitutional rights. He says the government is a police state that needs dismantling and that it creates a fear of foreign terrorists so as to take away our liberties.
Snowden exposed top secret documents, and can anyone explain just what freedoms we've lost? As real Americans we should be looking at ways we can work together to improve agencies and programs that are not perfect, not dismantle them. The only people who will benefit from a disappearing government and its agencies are the plutocrats that control the largest corporations.
