A hedgehog curls up in the hands of its owner at a hedgehog club exhibit in Anchorage, Alaska. Hedgehogs can be dangerous for young children because their quills can penetrate skin and have been known to spread a bacteria germ that can cause fever, stomach pain and a rash, according to the American Academy of Pediatrics in a new report about dangers from exotic animals.
