Mr. and Mrs. John Parkinson

— MILTON -- John and Carol Parkinson, of Milton, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 26. They recently went on a two-week cruise to Egypt, Turkey and Greece.
They were married in the Episcopal Church in Jeannette.
The couple have three children, Cindy Metzger, of New Columbia; Jeff, of Paxinos; and John, of Coholton, N.Y. They also have six grandchildren, Meghan Kuester, Mandy, Reece and Hunter Metzger, and Aurelis and Brianna Parkinson.
When asked what is their advice to other couples on their successful marriage, they stated, "Compromise is very important. No matter what today brings, tomorrow is another day. Rest some, love much, laugh often."
