SUNBURY — Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Reitz, of 130 Oak St., celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary at a party given by their children. Thirty-five guests were in attendance. The couple were married Aug. 3, 1940, in the parsonage by the Rev. George P. Fetterolf.
Mrs. Reitz is the former Martha Raker, daughter of the late Flossie (Brosious) and Lloyd Raker Sr. She is a homemaker and has enjoyed homemaker meetings, painting, knitting, sewing, bowling, teaching Sunday School and attending church.
Mr. Reitz is the son of the late Ellis G. and Maude (Delp) Reitz. He is a retired tool and die maker, and was self-employed. He is a veteran of World War II, a past member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, the Free and Accepted Masons, and has enjoyed woodworking, playing the organ and attending church.
Mr. and Mrs. Reitz are the parents of four children, Nancy Bastian, of Sunbury, Judy Dunkelberger, of Lewisburg, Ronald Reitz, of Halifax, and Eric Reitz, of Waynesboro. They have 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
