Published May 15, 2008 02:15 pm - Mr. and Mrs. Raymond "Jack" Snyder, of Milton, celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary with a surprise dinner party on April 13 at the Country Cupboard, Lewisburg.

MILTON -- Mr. and Mrs. Raymond "Jack" Snyder, of Milton, celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary with a surprise dinner party on April 13 at the Country Cupboard, Lewisburg. The party was attended by all five of their children and their spouses. Grandchildren came from Arizona, Missouri, Minnesota and Florida, to surprise them. There were 150 relatives and friends attending, some coming from other states. Entertaining for the party were Pearl & Ivory, with Jim Bolich on the drums and Louise Muffly on the keyboard.
Mr. Snyder is the son of the late John and Geraldine Snyder. He is retired from Shipper's Car Line.
Mrs. Snyder, the former Mary Mensch, is the daughter of the late Edna Minnick and Arnold Mensch, of Mifflinburg. She continues to work in the gift shop at RiverWoods Nursing Home, which she has done for many years.
The couple have five children, Ray, of Oklahoma, Ruth, of Allenwood, Harold and Ed, both of Watsontown; and Carl, of Milton. They have 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. One daughter and great-granddaughter are deceased. They also have numerous extended family members.
