SELINSGROVE -- Corey and Jamie Waters, of 79 Hemlock Crest, celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary recently by renewing their vows in Kampala, Uganda, East Africa.

The couple were married July 3, 1983, by the Rev. James Herman, at Rooke Chapel, Bucknell University.

Mrs. Waters is the daughter of Patricia Hummel and the late James Freezer. She is a teacher for the Milton School District.

Mr. Waters is the son of the late John and Ruth Waters. He is employed with Suburban Energy Services.

The couple have two sons, Thadeus and Matthew, both at home.

The ceremony was led by Pastor Peter Mutabazi, of Bwaise Pentacostal Church. Readings were by the couple's sons. A letter was read by Lori Ssebulime, from the Rev. James Herman, congratulating the couple on their years of marriage. Music was provided by the church praise team and a special song was written and performed for the couple, who wore traditional East African wedding outfits.

After the ceremony, a dinner reception was held for 150 guests at Marara Village and Gardens. Guests were entertained by African dancers and drummers.

The Waters family was part of a mission team from Christ Community United Methodist Church, Selinsgrove.
