Published September 25, 2008 01:30 pm - Kenneth and Ouida Jo Lewis, of Watsontown, celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on July 24. Kenneth is from Chicago, and his wife, the former Ouida Jo Norris, is from Eastland, Texas.

WATSONTOWN -- Kenneth and Ouida Jo Lewis, of Watsontown, celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on July 24.
Kenneth is from Chicago, and his wife, the former Ouida Jo Norris, is from Eastland, Texas. The couple met in Phoenix, Ariz. They were married July 24, 1943.
Due to Kenneth's profession as engineer for various oil and gas companies, they lived in several states. Their son, Dana, was born in Los Angeles, Ted in Levelland, Texas, Deborah in Shreveport, La., Lisa in Garden City, Kansas, and Cynthia, Kevin, Angela and Kathryn were born in Perth Amboy, N.J. After a company transfer to Williamsport in May 1968, the couple bought property in Watsontown. They have eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Kenneth is the founder of Susquehanna Valley All Sports Association Inc., a non-profit organization featuring fall baseball and sponsoring local girls' softball teams. This is his 11th year coaching fall baseball. An associate scout for the Phillies, his first team was in Chicago at age 16, in 1938; this year marks 70 years he has coached.
Ouida Jo was a Weight Watcher leader in the Susquehanna Valley area from September 1968-75; attended Enterlines dance studio in Milton for about nine years; and became an aerobic instructor at age 62. She has taught aerobics for 21 years. A member of the Watsontown Guild since 1996, she served as vice president for two years, and president for two years.
