Published October 02, 2008 11:00 am - Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Clewell, of New Columbia, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Sept. 11. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Clewell NEW COLUMBIA -- Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Clewell, of New Columbia, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Sept. 11.
The couple were married by the Rev. Melvin Whitmire at Brown Memorial Evangelical Church, Berwick. Mrs. Clewell, the former Doris Oberdorf, a native of Nescopeck, graduated from Nescopeck High School. She is a homemaker. Mr. Clewell, a native of Berwick, graduated from Berwick High School and retired with 30 years of service as a Prudential Insurance agent. He is a resident of Kramm Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center, Watsontown. The couple are the parents of two daughters, Heather, of Wilmington, Del., and Liane Kriner, of Reno, Nev. They also have two grandchildren.
