DANVILLE — Mr. and Mrs. Joseph L. Murray, of Danville, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Sept. 22, 2012, with a party at the California Grange Social Hall. The event, hosted by their children, was attended by approximately 150 friends and family members, including members of the wedding party.
They were married Sept. 21, 1952, in Zion Lutheran Church, Turbotville, by the Rev. Russell Flowers.
Mrs. Murray, the former Mary Lou Cotner, is the daughter of the late Elwood and Caroline Cotner. She is a retired beautician serving the former Kramm Nursing Homes.
Her husband is the son of the late John and Beulah Murray. He is retired from Conagra Foods of Milton.
They attend Zion Lutheran Church of Turbotville, and enjoy attending country music shows and travelling with family and friends. In addition, one of Joe’s favorite past times is playing mandolin with his country and gospel band and Mary Lou is his biggest follower and fan.
They are the parents of five children, J. Robert and wife Arlene, of Milton, Cindy and husband Lon Tarr, of Danville, Susan and husband Frank Wajda, of Allenwood, John and wife Ann, of Northumberland, and Lana Reed, of Florida. There are also three grandchildren, Brandon and Jared Tarr, and Brynn Wajda. One son, Michael, died at birth.
