LEWISBURG — Wayne and Ann Simmons, of Lewisburg, celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on June 19, 2013, with a dinner, hosted by family, at the home of their daughter.
Mrs. Simmons is originally from Jersey City, N.J., and Mr. Simmons from Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
Mr. Simmons was a civil engineer during his career and Mrs. Simmons was a homemaker.
They are the parents of four children, JoAnn Halama, of Montandon, Margie Harris and her husband Chuck, of New Castle, Va., Rod Simmons and his wife Sallie, of Northumberland, and David, deceased.
There are also 11 grandchildren, Melissa Troup and her husband Barry, of Milton, Jill Sweigard and her husband Michael, of West Milton, Beth Halama, of Sewickley, Pa., Ben Harris and his wife Shelly, of Salem, Va., Bethany Lufi and her husband John, of Belgrade, Serbia, Luke Harris, of Blacksburg, Va., Joanna Harris, of Blacksburg, Va., Autumn Dosch and her husband Justin, of Ambridge, Pa., Valerie Shelley and her husband Dane, of Washington, D.C., Meredith Snyder and her husband Kyle, of Milton, and Josh Simmons and his wife Kaitlyn, of Northumberland; and one great-grandson, Andrew Simmons.
