MONTGOMERY — Mr. and Mrs. Clifton N. Confer, of Montgomery, celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary recently. A trip to Mackinac Island, Mich. was taken in June, and a trip to the Finger Lakes in New York is planned in September.
They were married Sept. 2, 1972, in Milton, at the home of the bride, by the Rev. Alfred A. Ambrose.
Mrs. Confer, the former Linda L. Mero, is the daughter of Betty J. Mero who resides at Kramm’s Healthcare, Milton, and the late Walter J. Mero. She retired from American Home Foods/ConAgra, Milton, after 32 years of employment in the purchasing department.
Her husband is the son of the late Grace Confer Kitchen and Earl Confer. He served three years in the Army and retired from Frito-Lay, Williamsport, after 34½ years of employment.
The couple are members of The Nippenose Bible Fellowship Church, Oval.
They are the parents of two children, Erin Mazzulla, of Howard, and Clifton N. Confer Jr., of Grampian. There are also five grandchildren, and one great-grandson.
