MIFFLINBURG — Robert and Frances Stroup, of the Mifflinburg area, observed their 50th wedding anniversary on Nov. 9, 2013, with a surprise party at the Country Cupboard in Lewisburg. The event was hosted by their children, family, and friends.
In observance of their anniversary, the couple went on a Carnival Glory Cruise to Nova Scotia.
They were married at the Millmont United Methodist Church parsonage by the Rev. Elwood Hallopeter.
Frances is the daughter of the late Edward and Helen Susan. She retired after working 25 years at Rolling Hills Manor.
Robert is the son of the late Charles and Katie Stroup. He retired from Pennsylvania House Furniture after 40 years of service.
They are the parents of three sons, Van, of Penns Creek, Curtis and his wife Leslie, of Enola, and Mark and his wife Andrea, of Millheim. There are also six grandchildren, Tanner, Madison, Ethan, Mikayla, Logan, and Zavior.
