DANVILLE — Fred M. and Martha “Martie” J. Geringer, of Danville, observed their 50th wedding anniversary on Dec. 24, 2013.
They were married in 1963 at St. John United Church of Christ, Danville, by the Rev. Forrest Gass. They are members of St. James United Church of Christ, Danville.
Martha (Kreisher) Geringer is the daughter of the late Ray and Sarah Kreisher. Fred Geringer is the son of the late Harry and Catherine Geringer. Both Fred and Martie graduated from Danville High School in 1962. Fred graduated from the University of Buffalo with a bachelor’s degree in 1966 and a master’s degree in 1969.
Martie was president/CEO of M-C Federal Credit Union and retired after 28 years. Fred is retired from the Columbia-Montour Vocational Technical School after serving 35 years as a teacher.
They are the parents of two children, one daughter Kim, married to Michael Webber, of Danville; and one son, Scott Geringer, married to Sheri Carter, of Danville. There are also three grandchildren, Cody Geringer, of Northumberland, Emily Webber, of Aurora, Ill., and Ben Webber, of Leola.
In observance of their anniversary, they enjoyed a trip to the Canadian Rockies this year.
