HARRISBURG — St. Lawrence Catholic Chapel was the setting for the double ring ceremony uniting Julia Marie Bohinski and Steven Anthony Calhoun in marriage. The Rev. Monsignor Casimir Ladzinski, great uncle of the bridegroom, performed the service on May 18, 2013.
The bride is the daughter of Kathy and Jerry Bohinski, of Mifflinburg. The bridegroom is the son of Joseph and Denise Calhoun, of Lancaster.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a vintage inspired lace Romona Keveza gown.
Maid of honor was Jennifer Swiderski, of Kingston, cousin of the bride. Bridesmaids were Valerie Nguyen and Lauren Zimmerman, of Philadelphia, Lynsey Phillips, of Lewistown, Lindsey Stahl, of Mifflinburg, and Katie Estrada, of Hawaii, sister of the bridegroom. Junior bridesmaid was Madeleine Umstead, of Yardley. Flower girls were Ashley Viola, of Philadelphia and Elena Umstead, of Yardley.
Serving as best men for their brother were Eric Calhoun, of Lancaster and Scott Calhoun, of Philadelphia. Groomsmen were Harren Bray, Greg Hughel, and William Phillips, of Philadelphia and Alan Bohinski, of Warsaw, Poland, brother of the bride.
Music for the ceremony was provided by organist, Nicholas Basehore, cantor, Alexis Basehore and a four-piece brass ensemble.
Dinner and dancing followed at the Peter Allen House, a 300 year old historic property in Dauphin.
The bride is a graduate of Mifflinburg Area High School, and completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Pittsburgh. She received a master’s degree and PhD in nursing from the University of Pennsylvania. She is employed as a project director by the Adelphi Research Group.
The bridegroom is a graduate of Manheim Township High School and Drexel University. He is employed as a senior project engineer by Barry-Wehmiller Design Group.
Following a honeymoon to Istanbul, Turkey, the couple is living in Philadelphia.
