SOFTBALL
MIDDLEBURG -- The Midd-West Mustangs snagged their 10th win of the year, 3-0, over Newport, and qualified for the District 4 playoffs, thanks to a complete game two-hitter from sophomore hurler Chelsea Snook. Snook also singled home a run for Midd-West (10-8, 8-5 Tri-Valley League) during the team's two-run second inning.
Millersburg 10, Lourdes 6
MILLERSBURG-- Taking advantage of three errors in the fifth, Millersburg plated six runs in the home half of the frame for the come-from-behind win over Lourdes.
The Red Raiders led 6-1 heading into the bottom of the fifth.
Juniata 10, East Juniata 4
MIFFLINTOWN -- Courtney Miller's bases-loaded double with no outs in the fourth inning lead Juniata to the Tri-Valley League win.
Miller ended the day with 4 RBI's for the Indians.
Rachel Stimeling hit a three-run home run for the Tigers (6-9, 6-7) in the third inning.
BASEBALL
Southern Columbia 19, CMVT 2 (3 innings)
ELYSBURG -- On Senior Day, the Tigers pounded out 15 hits to make short work of the Rams. Rob Anderson scored three runs and his RBI in the third enforced the 15-run rule for Southern (13-5 overall and Mid-Penn Conference). Trevor Behrent also went 3-for-3, with 3 doubles and 5 RBIs, for the Tigers.
Postponement
NEWPORT -- Thursday's Midd-West/Newport game was postponed until May 13 at 6 p.m.
