SELINSGROVE -- Senior Hilcea Rivera got a little help from freshman teammates Meagan Heddings and Brianna Brancato as Selinsgrove blanked Shikellamy 3-0 Saturday in Heartland Athletic Conference Division I action.
Rivera had a goal and assist, as did Heddings; Brancato scored the third goal as the Seals (2-0, 2-0 HAC-I) ended a four-game winless streak against their arch-rivals.
"We wanted to get the game in because our schedule is loaded later in the season," Selinsgrove coach Matt Metzger said. "There were rainy conditions, but the fields have been dry, so I don't think it affected the teams."
Shikellamy falls to 0-3, 0-2.
Southern Columbia 4, Sullivan County 0
CATAWISSA -- The Tigers dominated throughout as they took the HAC-III victory.
Jordan Marks scored one goal and assisted on two others; Elise Karnkoski had one goal and one assist. Southern (2-0, 2-0 HAC-III) outshot the Griffins 29-0 and had 14 corners.
Midd-West 5, Mifflinburg 0
MIFFLINBURG -- Cheyenne Spade's two second-half goals propelled the Mustangs to the HAC Division I win.
Midd-West (3-0 overall and HAC-I) scored a total of four goals in the second half, with the other two coming from Brielle Snyder and Allie Ebright.
Mifflinburg falls to 0-2, 0-2.
Danville 12, Shamokin 0
COAL TOWNSHIP -- Alexis Jones recorded a hat trick and Morgan Karns added two goals as the Ironmen romped to the HAC Division I win.
Michaela Karns added a goal and two assists for Danville (1-1 overall and HAC-I), which also got assists from Jones, Morgan Karns and Hillary Kriejewski.
