COAL TOWNSHIP -- Cody Haupt rushed for 232 yards and three scores, while Josh Cillo chipped in with 147 yards and two touchdowns as Montoursville used its punishing ground game to down Shamokin 42-7 in a Heartland Athletic Conference crossover game on Friday.
The Warriors (6-1) got two touchdowns from Haupt in the second quarter, one a run of 77 yards and the other a 30-yard jaunt as they opened up a 21-0 lead.
Cillo made it 28-0 with a 49-yard TD run with 8:53 left in the third quarter before Shamokin cut it to 28-7 on a four-yard TD run by Brent Forbes. Forbes led the Indians (2-5) with 89 yards on the ground.
Loyalsock 42, Warrior Run 7
WILLIAMSPORT -- The Lancers exploded for 28 points in the second quarter to roll to the HAC-II win.
Loyalsock (3-4, 2-2 HAC-II) totaled 457 yards in the game, including 254 off the arm of quarterback Shane Carey.
Carey threw a 53-yard touchdown pass to Frank Pagana in the first quarter and an 85-yard pass to Jackson Person in the second quarter.
Pagana and Person caught all five of Carey's passes. Person finished with 118 receiving yards.
Steve Martin led Warrior Run (1-5, 0-3) by rushing for 47 yards and a touchdown, and he also caught three passes for 26 yards.
Newport 27, East Juniata 0
NEWPORT -- Mike Hogan threw for 112 yards and two touchdowns as the Buffaloes took the nonleague victory.
Hogan threw a 35-yard touchdown to Matt Lehman to give Newport (2-5) a 14-0 lead in the first quarter. Hogan later threw a 45-yard scoring strike to Kelby Ramp in the fourth quarter.
Offensively for East Juniata (3-4), Cody Cutler carried the ball 15 times for 69 yards.
