H.S. roundup: Mackenzie Clark leads Southern girls to rally win over Loyalsock

WILLIAMSPORT — Behind 20 points by Mackenzie Clark, Southern Columbia defeated Loyalsock, 60-57, coming from behind in the fourth quarter to win the HAC-II matchup.

The Lancers led by one heading to the fourth quarter but the Tigers (4-0) outscored Loyalsock 13-9 over the final eight minutes for the win. Clark was nearly automatic once she stepped to the free throw line, finishing 16-for-18.

Danville 40, Jersey Shore 30

DANVILLE — Three days after scoring 22 points to help Danville to a win, Amber Renz one-upped herself with 23 points to lead the Ironmen to a victory over Jersey Shore.

Midd-West 38, Selinsgrove 28

MIDDLEBURG — Selinsgrove led after one quarter but Midd-West quickly rebounded to take the HAC-I win.

The Mustangs outscored the Seals 19-4 in the second quarter to lead at the half by eight. Morgan Shirk led the Mustangs with 13 points while Sam Rodkey led Selinsgrove with seven.

Mifflinburg 62, Milton 34

MILTON — Kayla Kline found her rhythm for the Wildcats to the tune of 23 points against Milton.

The sophomore had multiple options to dish the ball as Sara Stauffer added 18 and Julia McArdle-Coe scored seven to help Mifflinburg win.

Halifax 59, Lancaster Country Day 16

LANCASTER — Kylie Sorichetti paced the Wildcats for 20 points, draining eight shots and knocking down four free throws, to propel Halifax to the TVL win.


Shikellamy 62, Bald Eagle Area 46

WINGATE — Shikellamy and Bald Eagle Area combined for 16 three-pointers on Saturday afternoon, but in the end it was the Braves that got the win and handed Bald Eagle Area its first loss of the year.

The Braves (3-3) got a 15-point performance from Derek Amerman while Kyle Leitzel scored 13 and Austin Mowery added 11.

The trio combined for nine treys — three apiece — while senior C.J. Tyler (9 points) added another.

Danville 59, Berwick 45

BERWICK — After scoring a team-high 30 points, including sinking seven 3-pointers, the Ironmen’s Austin Renz was held scoreless against Berwick.

Luckily for Danville though, the Ironmen have plenty of playmakers to step up.

Zach Kozick scored 20 points while three others recorded double-digits.

Lewisburg 61, Troy 40

TROY — Jesse Flannery found his touch from beyond arc against Troy.

The Lewisburg senior guard hit four 3’s while Will Sigl and Sam Allen each scored 17 points to lead Lewisburg to the win.

Halifax 42, Lancaster Country Day 29

LANCASTER — Koby Bowman scored nine points, including a pair of treys, and dished eight assists to lead Halifax to the TVL win.

The Wildcats are 3-2.


Midd-West Mustang Duals

MIDDLEBURG — Midd-West won eight bouts by pin including four in the first minute of action to beat Williams Valleys, 51-30.

In addition to the pins, Zach Longacre won at 220 pounds with a major decision over the Vikings’ Ian Minnich, 14-10.

Midd-West lost to Montgomery, 36-25, as well.

Selinsgrove 51, Shamokin 24

SHAMOKIN — Selinsgrove traveled to Shamokin and grabbed the Heartland win to improve to 2-1.

Warrior Run 51, Mifflinburg 21

TURBOTVILLE — Seven pins helped Warrior Run beat Mifflinburg in a HAC crossover match.

Mathew Kilgus raced away with a pin in 50 seconds at 220 pounds for Warrior Run.

Lewisburg 64, Loyalsock 15

LEWISBURG — Anchored by seven pins, Lewisburg defeated Loyalsock in a HAC crossover match at Bucknell University.
