For someone who found his love for the sport with his father, the late Charles Newman Sr., Snap was able to share what he considers his most memorable moment in bowling with his own son.
Charles Newman III was on hand during a regional tournament in Windsor, Conn., in 1992, when Snap reached the finals. It marked the first time Snap's son had seen him bowl in a professional setting, though he excelled at smaller venues as well, filling his trophy case in the process.
Newman mentioned he has been the Sunbury Area Bowling Association champion multiple times, in addition to winning titles in Selinsgrove and Milton. For his sustained excellence, Newman was inducted into the Sunbury Bowling Hall of Fame in 2008, exactly 20 years after his father was inducted.
Newman would be thrilled if the Senior Championships became as distinguished a chapter in his successful bowling career.
