Players from 13 schools named to team


Jack Gaugler, a 5-11, 215 sophomore inside linebacker, in his second year as the starter, led the Seals in tackles with 87. He had 3.5 sacks, three tackles for loss and one interception, which he returned for a touchdown. He was a first-team HAC-I selection.

Garett Sosnoski, a 6-1, 190 senior outside linebacker, made 62 tackles with two sacks and three interceptions.

Drew Newcomb, a 6-2, 205 junior safety led all Valley defenders with nine interceptions, along with 35 tackles and a fumble recovery. He was a first-team HAC-II selection and was also recently named to the AP all-state team.

Luke Rarig, a 6-0, 180 junior cornerback, made 43 tackles, broke up 10 passes and made three interceptions, returning one for a touchdown. He was a first-team HAC-III selection.

Mike Gilger, a 5-7, 160 senior cornerback, made 49 tackles, including 29 solo, with five interceptions. He is among the top 10 all-time in interceptions at the school.

Matt Meloy, a 5-6, 130 sophomore safety, had six interceptions while playing the position for the first time. He also had four pass break-ups. He was a first-team HAC-I selection.

Dalton Rowe, a 6-0, 180 punter averaged 37.9 yards per boot for the Tigers.

David Brantley, a 5-10, 155 senior returner, has played several positions for the Tigers as a result of injuries to starters. As a kick returner, he ran back seven kickoffs for 222 yards, including one for a touchdown.
