Women's basketball: Susquehanna drops contest at home

SELINSGROVE — There were six lead changes and the Susquehanna women’s basketball team held a four-point advantage with 15 minutes to play, but ultimately the Crusaders did not have enough to stop visiting Moravian in a 76-65 liss.

Susquehanna honored its four senior members — Amanda Eich, Candence Cannady, Jackie Clarke and Mariah Monahan — prior to the start of the game.

SU (11-11, 5-7 Landmark Conference) had three players in double figures, including Monahan with 14 points. Freshman Nikki Komara (a Lourdes Regional graduate) led the team with 15 points and seven rebounds.

Susquehanna was able to shoot 41 percent from the floor, but Moravian (19-4, 10-2) shot 47 percent overall and sank 89 percent of its free-throw attempts.

Susquehanna is back in action Wednesday at Juniata for a 7 p.m. contest.
