Area roundup: Selinsgrove hockey blanks Mifflinburg in HAC-I showdown

NORTHUMBERLAND -- The Eagles scored twice in the second half to send the game into overtime, where they would eventually fall in the nonleague contest. Conner Carey and Karch Carey scored for Sunbury Christian (3-7-1).

NORTHUMBERLAND -- A natural hat trick in the first half by Bethany Severn led the Warriors to the nonleague win. Hannah Renno and Riley Book scored the other two goals for Northumberland (11-1).

n Sunbury Christian 8,

Grace Prep 0

NORTHUMBERLAND -- Cierra Gross scored four goals as the Eagles cruised to the nonleague win. Marissa Spangler added two gaols and an assist for Sunbury Christian (5-3).


n Danville boys/girls sweep quad meets

LAPORTE -- Danville's boys and girls teams remained undefeated on the season as they both swept their HAC interdivisional quad meets.

Tyler Vella won the boys race for Danville (10-0) in 17 minutes, 28 seconds over Mifflinburg's Quincy Amabile (17:45). Mackenzie Jones won the girls race for the Ironmen (10-0) in 20:21 over Shikellamy's Treicy Cedeno (20:54).

n Warrior Run sweeps in both boys/girls

COAL TOWNSHIP -- Spencer Williamson and Lindsey Hartman both won their races in 16:49 and 21:14, respectively, to lead the Defenders to the quad meet sweep.

Zak Lewis (17:31) finished second in the boys race for Milton (8-3), while Claire Preisch finished second in the girls race for the Black Panthers (0-11).

n Selinsgrove wins seven of eight duals on the day

ALMEDIA -- The Seals found success in the meet, as the boys team won all four of their head-to-head matchups and the girls won three, losing only to undefeated Lewisburg.

Williamsport's Chet Schwoyer won the boys race (16:37) ahead of Selinsgrove's Brody Beiler (16:53) and Ethan Fadale (16:56).

On the girls side, Lewisburg's Allison Graham won the race in 20:11 ahead of teammate Blake Baylor (20:34).
