Hunter safety reminder
Hunting season starts in a little over a week and one of the last new hunter safety courses before then will be held on the Buffalo Valley Sportsmen's grounds next Saturday, Sept. 28.
This will be a "brown bag" event. You must pre-register for the class by visiting the Game Commission's web site or by calling 570-966-0173. The club is located just a few miles north of Mifflinburg.
Novice archers and those of you that just want to hone your "nimrod" skills are invited to attend the Successful Bowhunting class that starts at 8 a.m. Saturday at the Buffalo Valley Sportsmen's Association. Registration for this class is required.

The Northern Montour Sportsmen will host two pistol shoots on Saturday.There are separate morning and afternoon shoots.
Also Saturday, there will be a United Kennel Club coonhound hunt competition at Northern Montour.
On Sunday, the Team Taylor trap shoot runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Buffalo Valley Sportsmen.
Doe license update
So far, all Wildlife Management Units (WMU) except for 1A, 2A, 2B and 5C, 5D have sold out of their antlerless (doe) license allocations.
These units are in the far western and southwestern parts of our state and in the southeast corner of the state including Philadelphia and its surrounding counties plus the Lehigh Valley.
