High school roundup: Troutman's goal lifts Selinsgrove over Danville

DANVILLE -- Lacy Trautman scored on a set piece at the 32:12 mark of the second half, giving unbeaten Selinsgrove a 1-0 win in the HAC-I matchup over Danville on Wednesday.

Alicia Torruella crossed a ball that Trautman ran on and headed into the net for the Seals (8-0-1, 5-0-1 HAC-I).

Kayla Morran made six saves for Danville (1-4 overall and HAC-I).

MILTON -- Mackenna Miller scored twice in the first half to lead the Black Panthers to the HAC-I victory.

Defensively for Milton (4-2, 3-2 HAC-I), Dani Lincoln recorded her first shutout of the season.

Plus, the Black Panthers' back line -- consisting of Whitney Cross, Sara Anspach, Colette Scheffler and Maddi Yoder -- all played tremendous defensive games for Milton, according to coach Max Campbell.

n Warrior Run 3,

Mifflinburg 1

TURBOTVILLE -- The Defenders got back to their winning ways as Erika Landis, Rachel Grow and Olivia George combined to score all three goals in the HAC-II win.

Landis scored twice, while George had a goal and an assist, and Grow had two assists for Warrior Run (4-2, 4-1 HAC-II).

Aside from her offense, Warrior Run coach Jen Allen pointed out that her defense also played well in the game, especially defenders McKenna Beyer, Laura Bastian and Madison Bennett.

Lewisburg 0

LEWISBURG -- Carly Mill's goal in the 80th minute gave the Warriors the HAC-I win.

Kirsten Blakeslee made five saves to keep Lewisburg (2-2-1, 1-2-1 HAC-I) in the game.

Loyalsock 1 (OT)

WILLIAMSPORT -- The Tigers got an unassisted goal by Mackenzie Clark late in the second half to tie the game, but the HAC-II matchup ended knotted up despite the stats being heavily in Southern's favor.

Southern (6-0-1, 4-0-1 HAC-I) out-shot Loyalsock, 11-1, and the Tigers had nine penalty corners to just one for the Lancers.

n Mount Carmel 7,

LAPORTE -- Ali Varano scored a hat trick, and Sammy Zigarski added a pair of goals in Mount Carmel's win.

The Red Tornadoes (5-2) scored five first-half goals.


n East Juniata 7,

Halifax 1

HALIFAX -- Dalton Shipp and Dalton Smith scored two goals apiece for the Tigers in the Tri-Valley League win over the Wildcats.

Bailey and Gabe Coder both added goals for East Juniata (4-2-1, 3-0-1 TVL), along with Jake Sankey.

MUNCY -- Miranda Long scored four second-half goals to break open a close game and give the Tigers the HAC-II win.

Kayla Hoffman tallied the first goal for Southern (2-3 overall and HAC-II), and Elyse Noll added a pair of assists in the win.


n Montoursville 5,

SUNBURY -- The Warriors needed a three-set win at No. 2 doubles to complete the shutout victory over the Braves in the HAC-I matchup.

At No. 2 doubles, Shikellamy's Adrianna Simon and Alyssa Hollenbach fell, 6-2, 2-6, 6-3.

Lewisburg 1

DANVILLE -- The Ironmen swept the singles matches, losing just four games in the process, to beat the Green Dragons in an HAC-I contest. The win for Lewisburg came from Shannon Loftus and Hannah Gotoff at No. 2 doubles.
