MIFFLINBURG -- Ali Varano recorded her fourth consecutive hat trick, including the game-winner on a penalty shot, to lift the Red Tornadoes to the 3-2 Heartland Athletic Conference Division II road win.

Varano, The Daily Item's Female Athlete of the Year for 2012-13, scored the winning goal at the 24:59 mark of the second half.

Sara Stauffer and Kali Shuck scored for Mifflinburg.

"We played quite well today, worked the ball well," Mifflinburg coach Tedd Keister said. "Our girls played hard and played one of their better games. We just didn't get the lucky breaks tonight."

The Wildcats are 1-8 on the year and 1-6 in the HAC-II.

n Shikellamy 3, Midd-West 0

SUNBURY -- Shikellamy rolled to the HAC-I win with three Braves scoring in the game.

Elise Brubaker, Sidney Graybill and Hayley Ladd each scored for Shikellamy (5-4, 3-4 HAC-I). Kaitlyn Harmon saved 10 shots in goal for Shikellamy.

n Selinsgrove 2, Milton 0

SELINSGROVE -- The Seals grabbed a HAC-I victory behind goals from Nicole Krebs and Samantha Rodkey. Jessica Lawton made six saves for Selinsgrove.

n Loyalsock 2, Warrior Run 1

TURBOTVILLE -- Angie Cardillo scored with 3:58 left in the game to give Loyalsock the win. Myriah Saar tied the game for the Lancers with 17:54 left off of a pass from Allie Pagana. Laura Bastian scored an unassisted goal in the first half for the Defenders.

n Lourdes 5. Weatherly 4

SHAMOKIN -- Two goals and an assist from Bailey Trell propelled the Red Raiders to the win over Weatherly. Rachel Schultz added two goals for Lourdes and Brittany Lahr stopped five shots for Lourdes.

n Northumberland Christian 8, Grace Prep 0

STATE COLLEGE -- A first-half hat trick by Bethany Severn propelled Northumberland Christian to a victory over Grace Prep. Bethany Conklin added a goal and two assists. Northumberland Christian (13-1) dominated the stat sheet, taking all 24 shots in the game.

n Southern Columbia 3, Jersey Shore 0

JERSEY SHORE -- Bailey Bzdak and Jensen Kremser scored first-half goals as the Tigers (8-0-1, 6-0-1 HAC-II) remained unbeaten on the year. Grace Naehu had 14 saves for the Bulldogs.

n Lewisburg 6, Sourh Williamsport 0

A hat trick by Calvin Reif led Lewisburg to a 6-1 victory over South Williamsport.

Reif scored each of his goals in the first half for the Green Dragons (7-0). Joey Bhangdia added two goals while Adam Cole scored a goal and added two assists for Lewisburg.

n Grace Prep 2, Northumberland Christian 1

STATE COLLEGE -- Grace Prep handed Northumberland Christian its first loss of the year behind goals from Joshua Mikhail and Alex Zubler. Tyler Napp scored the lone goal for Northumberland Christian (11-1) in a game which was scoreless until the 7:45 mark of the second half.

n Sunbury Christian 5, Watsontown Christian 0

WATSONTOWN -- Five different Eagles found the back of the net to give Sunbury Christian the win.

The Eagles wasted little time scoring, with Adam Clements getting the Eagles on the board one minute and 25 seconds in. Jed Stuck scored a goal and added an assist for Sunbury Christian (4-8-1).

n East Juniata 5, Upper Dauphin 0

ELIZABETHVILLE -- Jake Sankey scored two goals and added two assists for the visiting Tigers. East Juniata is 6-2-1 overall and 5-0-1 in the TVL.

GIRLS TENNIS

n Jersey Shore 4, Selinsgrove 1

JERSEY SHORE -- The Bulldogs swept all three singles matches in picking up the HAC-I win over the Seals. The No. 1 doubles team of Jess Kerstetter and Laura Long gave the Seals their lone win on the day, defeating Holly Enders and Megan Bower, 4-6, 7-5, 10-6.

n Montgomery 3, Muncy 2

MONTGOMERY -- Francesca Shreck, the No. 3 singles player for Montgomery, scored a 6-1, 6-1 win over Meredith Griggs of Muncy to lift the Read Raiders to the win. Muncy won the first two single matches, while Montgomey swept the double matches.

n Lewisburg 5,

SUNBURY -- The Green Dragons swept the Braves in HAC-I action on Monday afternoon. Lewisburg did not drop a set all day.

n Milton 3,

Montoursville 2

MONTOURSVILLE -- After Milton dropped the first two singles matches, the Black Panthers' No. 3 singles player, Julia Spear, defeated Mikala Shaffer, 0-6, 6-4, 6-4. Milton then won both doubles matches to pull out the win. The Black Panthers are 5-8 overall and 3-8 in HAC-II.
