Todd Hummel's college football column: Better days ahead

Schlegel was slated to play a large role for the Demon Deacons this season, before an injury beset him during the start of fall practice.

Schlegel tore the ACL and meniscus in his right knee on Aug. 9. Schlegel was to start on four special teams for Wake Forest and was second on the depth chart at cornerback. He had surgery on Aug. 28 and expects to play next season.

Did you notice? In Bloomsburg's 56-10 win over Lock Haven on Saturday former Milton standout fullback Domair Anderson had his first carry of his college career for the Huskies, a 5-yard run.

A week after getting on track against Susquehanna, the Dickinson University football team continued its strong offensive play, rolling up 493 yards of total offense, including 304 yards on the ground. Lewisburg graduate Kyle Santorine is the starting center for Dickinson.
