Todd Hummel's college football column: Bison, Crusaders notch nice wins

(Continued)

Dartmouth entered Saturday's game averaging nearly 500 yards of total offense, while the Bison held them to 252 yards. Bucknell registered a season-high seven sacks in the game.

Susan also had got his other wish as not only the defensive line play outstanding, the offensive line opened holes for halfbacks: sophomore Matt DelMauro (75 yards, TD) and freshman C.J. Williams (68 yards, TD).

The Bison dominated the time of possession battle in the second half, holding the ball for 20:18.

Bloomsburg tailback Franklyn Quiteh had a streak of 22 consecutive 100-yard games snapped against Millersville on Oct. 12, but Saturday at East Stroudsburg, the senior set the Huskies' single-game rushing record of 308 yards.

I was more interested in the record he broke. Jerry Marks held the previous record of 300 set in 1991 against Mansfield.

Marks, who at one time also held the PIAA record for career rushing yards, played for Southern Columbia in high school and currently coaches wrestling for the Tigers.

His son, Blake, is a sophomore running back for Southern Columbia.
