Mount Carmel graduate Marcus Wasilewski was named co-Colonial Athletic Conference Player of the Week on Monday for his performance in a 34-20 victory over William and Mary on Saturday afternoon.
Wasilewski completed his first 11 passes of the game for the Black Bears, finishing 16-of-22 with 192 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Wasilewski surpassed 4,000 career passing yards in the win.
Wasilewski also carried the ball 14 times for 72 yards.
For the season, Wasilewski has completed 67.8 percent of his passes for 1,726 yards and 14 touchdowns with six interceptions. He's also second on the team in rushing with 308 yards and two scores.
Maine, ranked No. 14 in the FCS Coaches poll, is 6-1 overall and the only undefeated team left in the Colonial Athletic Conference (3-0). The Black Bears' lone loss came 35-21 on the road against Northwestern.
Maine travels Saturday to Villanova, one of five teams with one loss behind the Black Bears in the CAC race.
Southern Columbia graduate Taylor Young is the starting quarterback at Wilkes University as a freshman.
Young moved into the starting lineup on Sept. 28 against Misercordia and has started the last three games for the Colonels (2-4 overall, 1-4 Middle Atlantic Conference). Young has thrown for 336 yards and three touchdowns with six interceptions this season.
There are several other local players on the Wilkes roster. Tim Bousson, a Shamokin graduate, is a wide receiver, while Lewisburg graduate Grant Rogers is a junior offensive lineman.
Southern Columbia graduate Ryan Cherwinski is a freshman offensive lineman.
Lucas Amarose, a Mount Carmel graduate, is a sophomore offensive lineman and has made one tackle on special teams for Wilkes University.
Central Columbia graduate Jace Parcell is a freshman defensive lineman. He's played in all six games for Colonels with three solo tackles.
Three Mifflinburg graduates are on the Lebanon Valley College football roster. Dylan Yost is a freshman defensive end. He made one tackle in the Dutchmen's 65-21 victory over FDU-Florham on Sept. 28.
