SAN ANTONIO —
When teams watch the Susquehanna men’s soccer team on film, they have a difficult time picking out the one guy to stop. That’s just the way Jim Findlay likes it and one of the big reasons the Crusaders are in the midst of the best season in program history.
The 10th ranked Crusaders (18-2-1) boarded a plane Thursday morning on their way to San Antonio where they will meet No. 5 Ohio Northern in an NCAA Division III Sweet 16 matchup on Saturday afternoon at 6 p.m. The winner meets either Trinity (Texas) or Montclair State (N.J.) on Sunday at 6 for a chance to the go to the Final Four.
Perhaps no team among the 16 left playing in the NCAA tournament has the balance of Susquehanna. The Crusaders have scored 42 goals in 21 games with 17 different players scoring at least one. No SU player has more than five goals and three players — David Trank, Patrick Fry and John Arnold — are tied for the team lead.
