DANVILLE -- It was a walkfest when Danville played Bloomsburg in Sunday's 9-10 Division All-Star game.
Danville, however, walked away with a 15-9 victory at Echo Field behind the offensive and defensive work from pitchers Morgan Wagner and Lindsay Cashner.
Danville and Bloomsburg had only three hits apiece, but they also drew 16 walks each.
Danville took better advantage of those free passes when catcher Lydia Gordner hit an RBI single in the third inning and starter Wagner tripled in the first. Danville led 12-6 after three innings.
"At Danville, we run the bases. We might not get a lot of (offensive) action, but we run the bases," said Danville manager Jeff Wagner.
Cashner made that lead stand up with 10 strikeouts.
"I'm very pleased with Cashner's strikeouts. The team as a whole played very well," said Wagner. "We had some boo-boos, but we are going to practice hard all week."
Danville will play Lewisburg at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
