After some exciting finishes on Wednesday night, the District 4 finals and consolation games are all set to determine who moves on to the state tournament.

In Class AAA on the boys side, Shikellamy and Milton meet on Saturday at Shamokin at 7 p.m. in the rubber match between the two schools, this time with the District 4 title on the line.

Milton defeated Shikellamy in the first game before Shikellamy won the rematch. Both games were won by a total of seven points.

The Black Panthers are coming off an emotional win against a tough Athens team, a turnaround season after winning just six games last year. Milton also won despite 1,000-point scorer sitting out with an injury in Chad Diggan.

The Braves defeated Danville in thrilling fashion when C.J. Tyler hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to upset Danville, the reigning Class AAA district champions.

Milton's last District 4 Class AAA title came in 2006-07 while Shikellamy hasn't won a District 4 banner yet this century.

In Class AA, East Juniata and Lewisburg square off with a berth to the state tournament on the line in the consolation game at Shamokin on Saturday at 3.

The Green Dragons have just four losses this season, all of which came against Loyalsock. The Tigers meanwhile have won 19 games this year, a school-record, while also winning their first District 4 playoff game in school history.

Nick Lorenz and Bailey Coder are East Juniata's two go-to players, but Lewisburg has four of its starting five averaging at least 10 ppg, and will prove to be a force for the Tigers to try to contain.

In Class A, Lourdes and Muncy play in a consolation game on Friday at 7:30 in Milton with a berth to the state tournament on the line as well.

Lourdes is coming off a 43-37 loss to Sullivan County on Tuesday while St. John Neumann defeated Muncy.

On the girls side in Class AAA, Danville faces a solid Athens squad for the championship.

The Lady Ironmen have been led all season by talented freshman Amber Renz and senior Siobhan Bross.

In Class AA, Maria Kelleher and Lewisburg take on Muncy on Friday at 6 in Milton for the consolation game with a state tournament berth at stake. While they play for the consolation, Mount Carmel, led by senior Christina Perles, faces Southern Columbia at 5 in Shamokin on Saturday for the District 4 Class AA title. The Red Tornadoes have won the past two straight District 4 Class AA championships and are looking to three-peat.

Lourdes plays for the Class A title against a talented Sayre squad on Saturday in Montoursville at 3. The Red Raiders are trying to continue their string of dominance by claiming a fifth consecutive District 4 title with a win on Saturday.

The top three teams in Class A and AA advance to the state tournament while only the top two finishers in Class AAA advance.
