High school roundup: Shikellamy Braves pounce on the Wildcats

MIFFLINBURG -- Shikellamy has been eyeing-up a District 4 playoff spot, and the Braves got a big boost in that effort by defeating Mifflinburg 69-38 in a Heartland-I matchup on Wednesday.

Austin Mowery and C.J. Tyler scored 15 and 14 points, respectively, for Shikellamy (8-6, 6-2 HAC-I), while Ernie Tyler added 12 points in the win.

The trio also combined for eight 3-point goals, five of them coming in the first half as Shikellamy 25-9 after the first quarter.

"Shikellamy shot the lights out and played very physically. They moved the ball well on offense and they found the open man," said Mifflinburg coach Andre' Roupp. "They knocked down shots that they created for themselves. They were 5-of-6 on 3-pointers at the half -- that was tough to come back from against a good team like Shikellamy."

Braden Lee and Jeremy Uscowskas both scored eight points for Mifflinburg (6-7, 2-5).
