H.S. roundup: Shikellamy baseball starts year with win over Warrior Run

TURBOTVILLE — Selinsgrove 5, Williamsport 0

WILLIAMSPORT — Playing atop the hill at Williamsport High Shool, the Seals fought through the wind and cold to upend the Millionaires in the HAC-I matchup and remain undefeated on the season.

Keying the win for Selinsgrove (3-0) was Rob Smith, who took a 7-6 (8-6), 6-2 win over Nick Meale at No. 1 singles. Theron Fravel took a 4-6, 6-2, 10-7 (super tiebreak) win at No. 3 singles for the Seals.

“It was a cold match. After being on the bus for an hour it was hard for us to get going,” said Selinsgrove coach Duke Fravel. “Once the boys got going, they dominated.”

Danville 3, Shikellamy 2

DANVILLE — The No. 2 doubles team of Bryson Copenhaver and Jon Hauck picked up a 6-7 (5-7), 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 2 doubles to lead the Ironmen to the HAC-I victory.

Also winning for Danville (1-2) were Chris Zhang and Justin Eroh at Nos. 1 and 3 singles, respectively

DJ Clark won again at No. 2 singles — 6-1, 6-4 over David Gilliam — to remain undefeated on the season for Shikellamy (0-4).

Jersey Shore 4, Milton 1
