High School Roundup: Central softball wins HAC-II game

TROY — A six-run fourth inning propelled Troy to the nonleague win over Danville.

The Trojans (11-9) stroked 14 hits while holding the Ironmen (5-14) to four hits.

Southern Columbia 7,

Montgomery 4

CATAWISSA — The Tigers (13-4, 11-2 HAC-III) made the most of their five hits to beat Montgomery in the HAC-III matchup.

Nathan Hunter drove in two runs for Southern Columbia while Zach Tillett and Blake Marks each had a double for the Tigers.

Mifflinburg 11,

Warrior Run 1 (5 inn.)

MIFFLINBURG — A triple by Brian Zimmerman put into effect the mercy rule in the fifth inning as the Wildcats cruised to a HAC crossover win.

Zimmerman went 2-for-4 while Brady Lloyd, Devin Hendrix and Trey Smith all added two hits as well.

Mifflinburg ends the year at 9-11.

Loyalsock 9,

Shamokin 1

WILLIAMSPORT — Loyalsock may be hitting its stride, looking to defend its PIAA Class AA championship from a season ago.

The Lancers (15-5, 12-2 HAC-II) beat Shamokin in a HAC-II matchup with two ACC baseball recruits leading the way. North Carolina signee Kyle Datres hit a home run for the Lancers as a part of a 3-for-4 day and Wake Forest commit Jimmy Webb was 2-for-4 with a triple.

Joe Deptula had two hits and an RBI for Shamokin.
